How the Association collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of applicants, members and website visitors.
The Arab Association of Student Recruitment Agencies (AASRA) is a regional professional body for ethical student recruitment, affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities (AArU). This policy explains how the Association handles personal data provided through this website, membership applications and member services.
We collect the information submitted through the membership application and related forms: the account administrator's name, title, job title, email address, mobile number and account credentials; agency details including legal and trading names, country, city, address, website, contact details, size, markets and services; business registration details and uploaded documents such as registration certificates and agency logos; and any correspondence with the Association.
Personal data is used to process and verify membership applications, administer membership and renewals, publish approved member profiles and directory listings, communicate Association news, updates and industry insights to members who have opted in, and respond to complaints, enquiries and investigations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for purposes incompatible with those stated here.
Application data is reviewed by AASRA verification staff and, for accreditation, by the Accreditation & Ethics Commission. Information marked for publication — agency name, country, city, services and membership level — appears in the public directory once membership is granted. Business registration documents and account credentials are never published.
Data is stored on secured infrastructure with access limited to authorised Association personnel and processors acting on its instructions. Uploaded documents and account credentials are protected in transit and at rest. We retain personal data for as long as membership is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal, regulatory and disciplinary obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
We share personal data only where necessary: with service providers who host our systems and process data on our instructions; with the Association of Arab Universities where verification or accreditation requires it; and with competent authorities where the law requires disclosure. Published directory information is, by its nature, publicly visible.
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, ask for deletion where no legal or disciplinary obligation requires us to keep it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time. Requests are handled through the Association's secretariat via the contact page.
This website uses only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary to keep members signed in and to keep the site functioning, together with privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate site usage. No advertising trackers are used.
The Association may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and material changes are notified to members in advance of taking effect.
